With Season 2 of WGN America’s UNDERGROUND quickly approaching, we sat down and spoke with Amirah Vann (Ms. Ernestine), Aldis Hodge (Noah), Jessica De Gouw (Elizabeth Hawkes), Alano Miller (Cato), and newcomer Aisha Hinds who will be portraying Harriet Tubman in the new season of the hit series.

We discuss how the show has proven itself to be much more than “another slave narrative” and how each actor has used their personal pain, experiences, and strengths to give life to their characters.
