Watchmen HBO Presents “It’s Time” A Conversation on Representation in the Comic Genre
On Friday I afternoon at NYCC, I had the privilege and honor of hosting the “It’s Time” panel, which was sponsored by Watchmen HBO. “It’s Time” was centered around discussing ways to move the conversations of diversity and inclusion forward, and to hopefully not be just another panel on these same topics.
The panel featured Cheyenne Ewulu (of Pretty, Brown, And Nerdy), Jourdan Barnett (of Blerd Vision Podcast), and Omar Holmon of Black Nerd Problems, and hosted slash moderated by yours truly. We kicked off the evening with a round of questions for our panelists, discussing everything from is internet activism as useful as offline work, does a show or film need POC as creatives to accurately represent the POC experience and much more. We then answered some questions from our audience, which turned into a great discussion on multiple topics. You can peep the entire panel below, and thank you to everyone who came out in person.
