Nuggets of Wisdom: What The Hell Did I Watch
Welcome to the weekend Fanbros! Let us have a moment of your time for some Nuggets of Wisdom.
“Avengers, Disassembled: Breaking Down Age of Ultron’s Score” Hrishikesh Hirway Wired
This is a cool piece, Brian Tyler, composer for Avengers: Age of Ultron breaks downs the individual elements that make up the film’s title card for Wired’s Sound Exploder series. If you love movies scores or anything Avengers relative, Tyler goes in detail about the process and how whedon’s request challenged him to create something menacing, heroic and eerie.
“Shenmue – discovering the Sega classic 14 years too late” By Mike Diver The Guardian
This is a slightly older piece, but Mike Diver’s experience is likely similar to many people’s when discovering Shenmue for the first time. E3 is about two weeks away. There are always crazy otherworldly rumors during this time, on certain parts of the internet Yu Suzuki and Shenmue are constants among them. Diver’s words capture what is so wonderfully wonky and enduring about the game and explain why many still love Shenmue years later.
Aiyo Watch This
Kung Fury by LaserUnicorns
You will either love this or hate this. Nevertheless, you cannot say they did not deliver on their kickstarter promise. Kung Fury started as a pitch trailer for a Kickstarter three years. They made their goal (I take it because everyone loves the 80s) and this is the end product. The absurdity in the final 30 min short film is at times eclipsing Adult Swim levels of madness.
Batman: Arkham Knight – Time to Go to War
Here are seven more minutes of gameplay from Arkham Kngiht to remind you, you want this game.
