Gaming News Roundup – May 28: RIP TotalBiscuit And Battlefield V Details
Gaming News Roundup – May 28
This week, we lost a pioneer of modern gaming criticism and PC gaming. John “TotalBiscuit” Bain has passed away after a long-fought battle with cancer and has left a hell of a legacy to remember him by. His channel, which amassed 2.2 million subscribers, has been a beacon for many who were looking for impressions of PC games, podcasts, and general opinions about loot boxes and other happenings in the gaming industry. He’s helped so many since he started his channel all the way back in 2006, from helping his friends like Dodger of “PressHeartToContinue” and Jesse Cox, to inspiring many gamers to start writing or creating their own channels, including me. Watching TotalBiscuit’s videos legitimately helped me to start writing about video games. For a good cry, just search @TotalBiscuit on Twitter right now, you’ll find tons of amazing stories about how TotalBiscuit effected their lives and it’s beautiful.
Rest in peace, John Bain, and condolences to his wife Genna, their child, and their dogs. He was 33.
Battlefield V Has Women In It, Oh God, The Horror!
A new trailer for the upcoming Battlefield V came out this week and at first it looked okay until I saw a woman come onto the screen. I just about dropped my mountain dew when she came onto the screen shooting all the big military men. First of all, her bullets would obviously be weaker because she’s a girl. Also, apparently EA didn’t do their history, women weren’t even invented until 1992, the imbeciles. I swear to god, PC culture these days is just killing my immersion every day! When my 3 friends and I are standing on top of a horse riding through a desert and firing our flamethrowers creating what we call a fireball, the last thing we want to see is a historically inaccurate vagina-owner on the battlefield. I’m not 100% sure if it’s actually historically accurate or not, to be honest, but someone else on the internet told me that it was inaccurate and now I’m mad! There’s even one on the cover!
Seriously though, if you’re upset about women in Battlefield V, you’re ridiculous and it’s not going to hurt your experience in any way. This new trailer looks incredible, and with it, came some pretty cool details about the game. It’ll take place in World War II and will include a few different co-op modes including a campaign, added emphasis on character and vehicle customization, and of course some refinements here and there in the gameplay. This game also isn’t going to have a season pass or pay-to-win mechanics, which is awesome. You can see the trailer below, it’s definitely worth a watch.
