    Geralt Joins Soul Calibur VI

I want this as a poster.

It’s been rumored for a little bit that Geralt of the Witcher series was going to appear in a totally different game, and since Soul Calibur VI is all about weapon-based combat, it was a safe bet to assume that’s where we’d see the White Wolf next. To no one’s surprise, but Witcher fans’ delight, we guessed right! Geralt will be slashin’ and spellcastin’ in the newest Soul Calibur as the traditional guest character. The Soul Calibur series has been implementing guest characters into their games since Soul Calibur II, which featured Link from the Zelda series, Heihachi from Tekken, or Spawn depending on which console you got it on. We’re not sure if Geralt will be the only guest this time around, which was the case with Ezio Auditore in Soul Calibur V, but we’ll see. There are a few people who want to see the protagonist from Bloodborne make an appearance. You can see the trailer for Geralt here.

    DMC And Monster Hunter Crossover

Another crossover was announced this week! In an incredibly well-done trailer, it was announced that you’ll be able to get the outfit and sword of Dante from the first Devil May Cry. This is possibly to promote the new Devil May Cry HD Collection that just came out, which includes the first three of the series. Take a look at the trailer here, it’s fantastic, it even gives the monsters subtitles as if they were bosses in Devil May Cry. Capcom has stated that the event will be running later this year.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Release Date

This week we got a teaser and the release date of the next in the amazing rebooted Tomb Raider series. Shadow of the Tomb Raider doesn’t look like it’ll be a timed exclusive this time around when it releases on September 14th this year, which is great. The teaser doesn’t show too much, but it looks like we’ll be raiding some Mayan ruins. Square has stated that they’ll be revealing more on April 27th, so stay tuned, but until then you can check out the teaser trailer here. I’m loving this series and I’m glad to see it continuing to mold Lara as such an awesome character.

    Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic fans are still holding onto Sonic Mania after Sonic Forces came and went, so SEGA is still providing that nostalgic feel for them. During SXSW, SEGA announced a new edition of Sonic Mania is coming out this summer with a few new treats to come with it, such as 2 new characters named Mighty The Armadillo and Ray The Flying Squirrel. They kind of look like Sonic and Tails got stepped on or something, but I’m sure they’ll be really cool. Sonic Mania Plus also expands the amount of players that can play in competitive mode from two to four players. There will be a digital and physical release and the physical version includes an art book and a very cool SEGA Genesis cover art for the game. It’ll run you $29.99.

That’s the news for this week! How do you feel about Geralt’s inclusion in the new Soul Calibur? Were you hoping for someone else? Excited to see more Tomb Raider? Let us know below!
