FanBros vs AfroFuturist Affair Costume and Charity Ball
Philly futurism, punk and DIY style was in full force at the event.
Last week I interviewed Rasheedah Phillips, founder of the AfroFuturist Affair. In the interview we discussed her annual costume and charity ball. This past Saturday Ty and I attended the Black Holographic Memory Charity and Costume Ball. The event was held in the beautiful first floor space at The Hub in Philadelphia. Through the night we were treated to readings and music from an assortment of local artists. While the artists were on stage, attendees mingled, admiring art by Dezz Archie, Noni Red, Nyfolt and Alien Architect. If looking at art was not our bag, you could become a piece of art at the body painting station with OmiM Urban Gypsy. Rockers! Closet was the vendor of the night, showcasing thrifted as well as original designs. For our Philly fashionistas, they will be having an event at Tattooed Mom on December 7th for a holiday brunch shop. Make sure to check out the Rockers! Closet website for more details.
