First Official Trailer for Fahrenheit 451 Starring Michael B. Jordan, HBO Sets May Premiere Date!

The first official trailer for HBO’s Fahrenheit 451 premiered with a slight change in tone when compared to the teaser. The central conflict between characters Beatty and Montag takes center stage this time around. Michael B. Jordan plays the main antagonist Guy Montag from Ray Bradbury’s dystopian epic of the same name. Employed as a literal “Fireman,” it’s Montag’s job to placate the public by destroying books, or anything that doesn’t support society’s stunted points of view. After he begins to question his current actions, Montag uncovers the past. While doing so, Montag discovers the world he knows is no more than a synthetic overlay, rife with “fake news” and the intentional suppression of known facts. All the while, the public is kept deliberately and willfully ignorant through use of prescription medication and other hedonistic ideals.

Fahrenheit 451 is being directed by Iranian-American Ramin Bahrani, also known for the 2014 drama 99 Homes. The previously mentioned film co-starred Michael Shannon in a role that garnered dozens of Best Supporting Actor awards and nominations. Fahrenheit 451 would the second collaboration between Shannon and Bahrani. Michael Shannon is playing Fireman Beatty, Montag’s superior officer, mentor, and ultimate story protagonist. The movie takes place in a futuristic society as in the previous versions of the film, though modern day production value assures that this is the most visually appealing. Fahrenheit 451 has an official release date of May 19th 2018, on HBO.

Fahrenheit 451 stars Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed) Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water, Man of Steel) Sofia Boutella (The Mummy, Star Trek: Beyond) Martin Donovan (Electric Dreams, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) Grace Lynn Kung, (The Expanse, Star Trek: Discovery) Keir Dullea, (2001: A Space Odyssey, Law & Order) Lilly Singh (Bad Moms, Ice Age: Collision Course) and Dylan Taylor (Reasonable Doubt, Far Cry 5)
