Disney Legend Andreas Deja Is Looking For Animators
Happy Sunday Fanbros. Cartoons With A Robot time! Legendary Disney animator Andreas Deja is looking for a few LA based animators to assist him for his new short film, Mushka.
From what we can gather Mushka looks to harken back to the pre-renaissance era of Disney Animation. In the teaser above we see about 10 seconds of actual animation, but in classic Deja fashion, it’s the best ten seconds of animation you’re going to see for a while. The squash and stretch in the tiger as he jumps for the butterfly, the subtle but highly emotive expressions in the girls face. The smooth movement and bounce to her hair. On these ten seconds alone I can tell this is going to be a hit on the short film circuit once it’s completed.
As detailed on his blog, he has nearly finished the story reel/animatic for Mushka. He has also announced that classic Disney composer & songwriter Richard M. Sherman(The Sword In The Stone, Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book.) has written a song for the film.
‘As I am getting into full production on Mushka, I am looking for local LA 2D animation artists.
– Effects animator, experienced or new. But with high standards.
– Inbetweeners, experienced or new. But with high standards.
– Animators, experienced or new. But with high standards.
If you are interested, leave your email, and I’ll contact you. I won’t be able to pay studio rates, but I WILL pay independent film $.’
If you’re based in LA and think you’ve got the chops to work with Andreas Deja, apply here. This is an incredibly opportunity for young artists, if I were in LA you’d better believe I’d be applying.
